Szymon “Szaman” Godziek, known in the world of gravity cycling, has gained recognition not only in Poland but also abroad. His spectacular achievements have contributed to solidifying his position in the international cycling scene. In 2013, he became famous as one of the few who performed the so-called cash roll – an extremely difficult combination of a backflip and a 360º rotation. Thanks to this trick, he won numerous awards in the Best Trick category at prestigious competitions, such as Red Bull Bergline and 26trix.
After his success in 2013, he won the title of the best rider of the 2013 season in the FMB World Tour plebiscite. His talent and skills were appreciated during subsequent competitions, including the season inauguration in Vienna, where he delighted the audience with a Backflip cliffhanger. The year 2014 brought him further triumphs, and one of the most important moments was his performance at the Red Bull District Ride in Nuremberg, where he performed the legendary tsunami backflip. His performance at the Red Bull Rampage in Utah, where he took 11th place, also attracted the attention of the entire cycling community.
The following years brought Szymon even more success. In 2015, he again won the title of the best rider of the FMB World Tour, as the only competitor in history. He also organized his own series of WOMBAT Dirt Jumping Cup competitions, popularizing dirt jumping in Poland. In 2017, he took high places in the Crankworx series, including fourth in Innsbruck and third in Les Gets. He also took part in the Tour de Pologne, where he performed a somersault over the peloton in his own style, which was remembered by fans for a long time.
Despite the injury, Szymon did not slow down. After a knee injury in 2019, he quickly returned to form to take 6th place at the Red Bull Rampage. A year later, with competitions canceled due to the pandemic, he focused on developing his freeride skills and film projects. Szymon continues to raise the bar in the world of freestyle MTB, gaining recognition and inspiring new fans of extreme cycling.
